The list below shows the countries whose natives are eligible for DV-2023, grouped by geographic region.  Dependent areas overseas are included within the region of the governing country.  USCIS identified the countries whose natives are not eligible for the DV-2023 program according to the formula in Section 203(c) of the INA.  The countries whose natives are not eligible for the DV program (because they are the principal source countries of Family-Sponsored and Employment-Based immigration or “high-admission” countries) are noted after the respective regional lists.

*Persons born in the areas administered prior to June 1967 by Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt are chargeable, respectively, to Israel, Jordan, Syria, and Egypt.  Persons born in the Gaza Strip are chargeable to Egypt; persons born in the West Bank are chargeable to Jordan; persons born in the Golan Heights are chargeable to Syria.  

  

** Macau S.A.R. (Europe region, chargeable to Portugal) and Taiwan (Asia region) do qualify and are listed.  For the purposes of the diversity program only, persons born in Macau S.A.R. derive eligibility from Portugal.  

  

***Persons born in the Habomai Islands, Shikotan, Kunashiri, and Etorofu are chargeable to Japan.  Persons born in Southern Sakhalin are chargeable to Russia.

Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, British Indian Ocean Territory, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, St. Helena, and Turks and Caicos Islands.

DV2021 Case Processing update of Nepal (Up to 5 September 2021)

The fiscal year of the DV 2021 visa issuance process is coming to an end on September 30. In this context, there are clear indications that not even 60% of the DV 2021 visas will be issued through the regular process, which is a matter of concern for the winners of DV 2021. As you may know, the US government court has not been able to give a promising verdict in favor of any of the DV 2021 lawsuit proceedings. In this sense, there is a question mark over the possibility of getting a visa for those who spend a lot of money to participate in the lawsuits. In the year 2021, 3801 Nepalis were selected for the DV lottery program, which is the second-highest number of DV winning country in Asia. According to the DV Lottery Charts' data published on 1st September, 31% of the winners have so far received visas, with 531 receiving visas and 522 being interviewed.
