Email Samples of KCC to DV Winners: from the DS-260 Processing to 2NL (Interview Appointment)

Millions of people from all over the world participate in the DV lottery program every year. But, out of those millions, only a few lucky ones get selected in the DV lottery program. Annually, 55,000 immigrants from eligible countries can enter the United States legally through the DV lottery. But unfortunately, many DV winners become disqualified for various reasons. Thus, we can say that being selected in the DV lottery program is not everything, but it is definitely the beginning of a beautiful opportunity to live an American life.

As we have said before, being selected in the DV lottery is not everything. After being selected for the DV program, the DV winner has to proceed with the process very carefully in order to reach the interview to get the visa. The journey from the process of DS-260 to the acquisition of 2NL requires a long wait and patience. It may take at least 5 to 15 months for you to get to the interview once you are selected on DV.

The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) does all the work for the DV winners. That's why your correspondence with KCC is important as a DV winner. Your DS-260 must be submitted to KCC and KCC asks later for the documents required from you. KCC will check and verify your documents, and KCC will also notify you regarding the interview date, location and time, once the date is set on the basis of your DV case number.

If you have made a mistake in the DS-260 form or need to make any changes, you should request to KCC. Even if you have any inquiries about your DV process, you should contact KCC. Therefore, it is very important to have communication between KCC and you till the time of the interview after your selection in the DV lottery program.

Two emails are very important in communication with KCC, which are: KCCDV@state.gov and KCCDVDocuments@state.gov. The email address KCCDVDocuments@state.gov is only for sending your documents and KCCDV@state.gov is for other communications and inquiries. Generally, the KCC sends you email from KCCDV@state.gov and mostly the KCC emails come in the 'Updates' folder. So, don't forget to check all the folders in your email.

After submitting the DS-260 form, what kind of emails does KCC send you till the time of the interview? In this post, we will try to show you the sample emails of KCC.

When you submit the DS-260 form, you will receive an email from DO-NOT-REPLY@state.gov. This ensures that your DS-260 form has been submitted completely. Some may not receive this email. Even if you don't receive this email, your DS-260 may have been successfully submitted. Because, in order to receive this email, you have to manually click on Email Confirmation. This video explains in Nepali what to do and how to get this email.

A few weeks (a few days, weeks, or months) after submitting the DS-260 form, KCC will send you an email to submit the required documents. The sample of which is as follows.

All documents should be submitted as attachments to your email to ensure they are properly received. We ask that you use the following method to name and attach your files:

 - Your DV case number;

Although KCC requests the required documents from this email KCCDV@state.gov, you should send the documents to this email KCCDVDocuments@state.gov. After you have successfully sent the documents, you will receive an automati reply, the sample of which is as follows.

Automatic Reply from KCC DV Documents

The Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) has received your email and is currently processing your documents. This email address, KCCDVDocuments@state.gov, is only used for applicants to provide the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) with documents required to continue processing Diversity Visa applications.  KCCDVDocuments@state.gov does not respond to inquiries. If you have any Diversity Visa-related questions, please email KCCDV@state.gov with your case number, complete name, and date of birth, as entered on your original entry.

You should expect an email from KCC in the next 3-6 weeks.  If you do not hear from KCC after 6 weeks, please contact
KCCDV@state.gov to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview.

Why this automatic reply is important is that if you accidentally did not attach the document to your email, you will be notified that the document is not attached, through the automatic reply. In that sense, this email is important.

A few weeks (days, weeks, or months) after the document is submitted to the KCC, you will receive a mail from KCCDV@state.gov that your document has been received. The sample of which is as follows.

[******your case number*****] Documents Received

Case Number: ************
Dear [***your name***]:

Congratulations!  Our records indicate that you have submitted all required documentation to the Kentucky Consular Center and are ready to be scheduled for an interview when your case number becomes current. Interviews are scheduled numerically based on case numbers that have completed processing.

Interviews for the DV 2020 program will begin in October 2019 and conclude on September 30, 2020. Please refer to the visa bulletin at www.travel.state.gov to locate the current numbers being processed. This bulletin is updated after the 15th day of each month. Once an interview date has been scheduled, you will receive notification via the email listed on your DS-260 to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov.

If your case becomes current and you have not received a notification to check http://www.dvlottery.state.gov, please contact KCCDV@state.gov to confirm all of your documents have been received, and you are ready to be scheduled for an interview.

This email is very important. Because only after receiving this email can you expect an interview. If you do not receive this email, you may have doubts that your documents have not been received by KCC, that your documents are incorrect or that you do not qualify for a visa, or that you have not submitted the documents as per the information previously provided in the DS-260 form. Therefore, it is very important for any DV winner to know that the document has been received from KCC and that your case is ready for the interview.

Then you have to see the update of the Visa Bulletin. If you have received an email from noreply@state.gov regarding the receipt of documents and your case range has been updated in the Visa Bulletin (generally it is also called case current in VB), you can expect to receive a notification for 2NL (Second Letter) within a few weeks. This is a very simple notification email, but its value cannot be compared to anything else. Because you don't know where, when and when your interview will take place without receiving a 2NL. Once you get the 2NL, there are only two steps left to get a visa, i.e. medical examination and interview. So this is a simple notification email but a very important email, as it seems, is presented here.

Required Entry Status Check for DV Submission

[*** you last name, first name***] You have received this email notification to inform you that you have updates available at https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ESC. Please log in using your confirmation number from your original application to complete further processing.

After receiving this email, you have to go to the same link that you came to check the DV result earlier. When you check your DV result, you will not see the previous letter, you will see a new letter with new information, mentioning the date, place, and time of your interview, as well as the names of the family members who will be present with you during the interview.

Perhaps, you are very excited to reach this stage as a DV winner or if you have got 2NL, you are feeling so happy. May your dream of entering to America comes true, best wishes. Please share this post, as it is very important for every DV winner to know about it.

A video in the Nepali Language on how to know that you have received 2NL is available here, please watch:

DV2021 Case Processing update of Nepal (Up to 5 September 2021)

The fiscal year of the DV 2021 visa issuance process is coming to an end on September 30. In this context, there are clear indications that not even 60% of the DV 2021 visas will be issued through the regular process, which is a matter of concern for the winners of DV 2021. As you may know, the US government court has not been able to give a promising verdict in favor of any of the DV 2021 lawsuit proceedings. In this sense, there is a question mark over the possibility of getting a visa for those who spend a lot of money to participate in the lawsuits. In the year 2021, 3801 Nepalis were selected for the DV lottery program, which is the second-highest number of DV winning country in Asia. According to the DV Lottery Charts' data published on 1st September, 31% of the winners have so far received visas, with 531 receiving visas and 522 being interviewed. The details are briefly presented in the table below. Total DV Winners   3801
