Two Crucial Questions About the Diversity Visa (DV) Process Answered

In this blog, we’ll address two frequently asked questions related to the Diversity Visa (DV) process. Question 1: Is it necessary to send an inquiry email to KCC to receive the 2NL (Second Notification Letter)? Clear Answer: NO. Typically, Second Notification Letters (2NLs) are sent to DV selectees based on the monthly updates of the  Visa Bulletin , not on the basis of any inquiry emails. So, sending an email to the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) does not influence when or whether you receive your 2NL. There is no harm in sending an inquiry if you want to, especially if your case number is current and you haven’t received the 2NL yet. But be clear:  receiving your 2NL after sending an inquiry email is coincidental , not a result of the inquiry. If you have time and curiosity, feel free to email KCC. Otherwise, focus on your daily routine and wait for your turn as per the Visa Bulletin schedule. Question 2: Why does the Consular Office ask some applicants to submit d...

A Psychological Dive into the Story of Lolita (1997)

The tragedy of obsession, innocence, and the devastating failure of adult responsibility.  Lolita  (1997) is a psychological drama film directed by  Adrian Lyne , based on the controversial 1955 novel by  Vladimir Nabokov . The screenplay was written by  Stephen Schiff , and the film stars  Jeremy Irons  as Professor Humbert Humbert and  Dominique Swain  as Lolita, with  Melanie Griffith  as Charlotte Haze and  Frank Langella  as Clare Quilty. This version is a bold and emotionally intense adaptation that dives deep into themes of lust, manipulation, trauma, and the collapse of moral boundaries in the adult world. Unlike the 1962 version, which was heavily censored, the 1997 film portrays the disturbing relationship more openly—making it both more haunting and more heartbreaking. At the heart of the story is  Professor Humbert Humbert , a refined but emotionally broken literature professor who is tormented by t...

Disheartening Update for DV 2023 Winners: Visa Issuance Limit Reached, No More Visas Available

In a disheartening turn of events for Diversity Visa (DV) 2023 winners, the dream of starting a new life in the United States has been shattered. A DV2023 winner, whose case was in Administrative Processing (AP) mode, recently shared a screenshot of an email from the consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Nepal. The email revealed that the visa issuance for the fiscal year 2023 has reached its limit, and no further DV2023 visas will be issued. This revelation aligns with an official update released by Travel.State.Gov, the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs, on September 7, 2023. As of September 7, 2023, the Department of State has confirmed that all available Diversity Visas for the 2023 DV Program have been issued. This news comes as a significant disappointment to DV2023 winners from eligible countries worldwide, particularly those with high case numbers. The impact is felt by those who were eagerly awaiting their 2NLs (Second Notification Letters)...

The final review of DV2021 Case Processing of Nepal

The regular process of issuing DV 2021 visas has been formally completed from September 30 and now the visa process for DV 2022 will start from October. Compared to the winners of DV 2020, the process of issuing DV 2021 visas is not satisfactory in any way. In the year 2021, 3801 DV visas were available for Nepal but only 1279 people got visas. That is only 34% of the total visas available.   Primary Cases Total Applicants (with derivatives)   Total Available DV2021 Visas   3801   Total Processed Cases 782 1465 39% Issued 709 1279 34% Ready 16 90   Refused 57 90   Potential-AP   6       1465     Due to Pres...
