Due to the lack of staff at the consular office, the risk of the corona epidemic and the long-term effects has hampered the visa process for immigrants has been slow since mid-2020 to 2021. The impact of which can be expected to continue in the future. This is because the work of the backlog in the embassy and consular office and the process of adding new applicants is challenging. Due to these various reasons, DV winners have been most affected. Because the process of this program has to be completed within a limited time frame, many DV 2021 winners are at risk of not getting a visa.
Following the Biden administration's rescission of the public charge rule, DV winners will no longer be required to fill out an I-134 or I-864 form on behalf of the sponsor, called an affidavit of support. This is a matter of great relief. However, DV winners still ask their sponsors to fill out Form I-134, which is not a bad, but it is not mandatory, according to an email sent by the embassy to DV winners. However, still some lawyers advise to DV winners to manage for the I-134 form from the Sponsor before your interview. So to be sure, you can ask to your sponsor for it.
In this post, the email sent by the embassy to the DV winner, whose interview was canceled and has now been rescheduled, is presented. From which you will get important information on various issues including documents to be prepared, rules to be followed, expenses incurred for the interview while visiting the embassy, and many more.
