Email Sample for DV 2020 Winners, Those Who Got 2NL Letter from KCC But Interview Postponed. But now it's URGENT.
Due to COVID-19, the winners of DV 2020 are facing many challenges to get visas, and due to the immigration ban, no one could be interviewed even after receiving the 2NL letter from KCC. Despite President Trump announcing an immigration ban until December 31, a court headed by Justice Mehta recently ruled in September that the US government should issue visas to DV 2020 winners as soon as possible.
Therefore, the lawyers advocating for the benefit of DV 2020 winners are advised to inform themselves about the winners of DV 2020, who did not get visas even after the interview and could not participate in the interview, as soon as possible by email at the embassy.
There are still many challenges ahead due to the law that all the visas of the winners of DV 2020 should be issued by this September 2020 and if not, the rest of the process will be canceled automatically. The rest of the visa process is short and there are many problems with travel and medical checkups due to the lockdown. For those who have not received a second letter from KCC and are unable to get a visa by September, the decision on September 25 will be decisive.
Let's hope that everything happens for good reason. Winners of DV 2020 who have been interviewed for now but have not been issued a visa and have received a second letter but the interview has been canceled should send an email to the Embassy. Below is a sample of the email. Don't just copy and paste, but please change it according to your own condition.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am a DV 2020 winner from Nepal. We were in the final stages of obtaining a visa in this process. Our interview was scheduled for *********. However, our interview was not completed due to the immigration ban proclamation of President Trump, which left us distraught and exhausted. But again our dream of entering America is awakened with hope.
As you should be aware on Friday, September 4, Judge Mehta issued an order to the Department of State which directs the agencies such as DoS, KCC, and the embassies to process and adjudicate DV2020 cases by the September 30th deadline. Judge Mehta has asked for a report of progress (including actions taken or not taken) for review on September 25th.
Additionally, Judge Mehta found the following:
(1) The State Department’s policy of not reviewing and adjudicating non-exempt visas is not in accordance with the law, is in excess of statutory authority, and is arbitrary and capricious;
(2) The State Department’s non-processing of 2020 diversity visa applications constitutes agency action unreasonably delayed, and (3) the State Department’s exclusion of 2020 diversity visa applications from its guidance on mission-critical services is arbitrary and capricious.
He then ordered:
“Defendants shall undertake good-faith efforts, directly and through their designees, to expeditiously process and adjudicate DV-2020 diversity visa and derivative beneficiary applications and issue or reissue diversity and derivative beneficiary visas to eligible applicants by September 30, 2020”.
Given this judgment from the Federal court, which has jurisdiction in these matters, I am contacting you to request your immediate cooperation so that my case can be adjudicated by the deadline and according to the order of the judge.
In this regard, we kindly request you to reschedule our interview as soon as possible and, if necessary, to take the initiative in the relevant agencies. Details about me and my family are given below:
