Are you a DV winner for 2021? If so, first of all I would like to congratulate you. But being selected for the DV program is not the all thing. In order to travel to the United States through the DV program, you must qualify for many things, and the rest of the journey is a long one, for which you will have to carefully complete additional procedures. Don't get too excited, but be patient. And now I will tell you how to take the remaining steps. The most important thing I would like to tell you at the outset is that you should not spread too much rumors about your selection in the DV program. It's a good idea to inform a close friend or family member, but don't be unnecessarily excited to tell everyone and spread rumors. You move forward calmly and patiently, if you are qualified in everything, you will sooner or later reach America.
Particularly two words are very common in the DV program, they are the first letter of the DV program and the second letter (2NL Letter) of the DV program. The first letter to understand in a literal sense is that when you check the DV result you have been selected, the letter you see with congratulations is the first letter of the DV program. The second letter, specifically called a 2NL Letter, that mentions the date of your interview.
In order to receive the second letter (2NL Letter) of the DV program, you have to follow the given procedure very carefully and patiently. This article aims to provide technical support your DV process from Nepal.
So what should you do now? Let's discuss about this. In particular, there are three things you need to do now:
- Confirm Your Qualifications
- Submit Your Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260 Form)
- Submit Supporting Documents
The official agency related to the DV program (i.e KCC) has suggested the selected participants to complete these procedures as soon as possible. We will now look at these processes in more detail.
1. Confirm your qualifications:
You need to confirm your eligibility and fill out the DS-260 form, so it is important to check your eligibility first. Not only by being selected in the DV program, if you do not qualify, even if you fill the form, there you will receive no information for further processing. This means that you will not receive a second letter i.e 2NL Letter.
In the DV program, the qualifications of the selected person are measured in three things. These are: educational status, work experience and passport. Educational status is very important in these three things, that is, you must have passed at least +2, that is, class 12. If you have not passed Class 12 in any of the faculties, then you are ineligible for the DV program. It is okay if you have passed 12 under formal education, otherwise the educational document mentioned '12th class or equivalent' does not identify you as a qualified person.
The second factor that measures your ability is your work experience. As I said above, the main factor in measuring qualifications is the educational status. Although work experience is not so important, I hope, if you are a person who has passed 12th grade, you must have done some work somewhere. The work experience certificate is enough. You can also expand your studies by working in the United States. So primarily you should be academically qualified. However, the official agency says that you should have work experience related to the list of jobs available in the United States. But I think any of the work we do, will somehow match the list of jobs available in the United States. Therefore, Nepalis should go to the United States through the DV program in a way that no matter what they get, whether washing dishes or cleaning the floor, should develop the mentality that I am ready to do everything.
The third factor in measuring eligibility for the DV program is your passport. Since this is the rule that everyone must have a passport when filling out the DV form at the beginning of the 2021 DV program, I don't think this issue is so serious. I hope you have your passport, which has been issued by the official body of Nepal and is correct. That's right, you don't have to worry about passports.
2. Submit Your Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260 Form):
Once you have confirmed your eligibility for the DV program, you will need to begin the process of filling out the Immigrant Visa or Alien Registration Form i.e DS-260 Form. You can also submit this form yourself. But since there are many questionnaires, some questions can be confusing. If you are newlyweds, or you have children, you need to provide accurate information when filling out this form. Therefore, I think it would be appropriate to take the technical assistance of a consultant to fill this form.
Before you fill out this form, you need to find a sponsor from someone living in the United States. Initially you did not have the correct number and information of your family in the form filled for DV lottery and if you put it in the DS-260 form now, your form will be canceled and you will be disqualified for the rest of the process. If you miss the name of any of your family members on the DS-260 form, those members will be unable to get a visa to go to the United States.
3. Submit Supporting Documents:
After completing and submitting the DS-260 form, KCC will send you an email within 1 to 2 months, requesting additional documents. Remember, no documents need to be scanned and sent to KCC when filling out the DS-260 form. Just fill in the information and send it. Based on the information sent, the KCC asks for additional documents. These documents need to be scanned and sent via email. In particular, those documents include passport, birth certificate, marriage registration, police report, educational or work experience related documents, etc.
In this regards, in more detail explained in the video given below. Please watch out:
What is asked in the Immigration Visa and Alien Registration Form (DS-260 Form) and how to prepare it? Also, how to prepare for submitting supporting documents? I will explain in another article. Thank you.
