DV2021 Case Analysis so far of Nepal [3 July 2021)

The last deadline for the DV2021 process is approaching, which is 30th September. But the embassy is not working as fast as it used to, which seems to be a stressful situation for the DV2021 winners. How many people will get visas within 3 months? This has become a matter of great interest.

Many cases were stalled due to the presidential proclamations declared by the Trump administration regarding immigration policy. The direct effects of that presidential proclamation have been seen during the Biden administration. Although President Biden is considered as positive on the issue of immigrants. But due to the Corona epidemic and delays in the process by the KCC and local consulates, many immigrants have been affected, which has left immigrants dissatisfied with the Biden administration.

The easiest way to legally become a U.S. citizen on an immigrant visa is through the Diversity Visa Lottery program, no doubt about it. But being selected in the DV lottery does not guarantee a visa, and the other downside is that the visa process is bonded in the timeline. This process starts in October of each year and ends by September of the following year.

The DV 2021 process, from October 2020 to March 2021, collapsed for almost six months due to Trump's presidential proclamation. After the Biden administration rescinded the announcement, some hopes were raised for the DV 2021 winners, and 2NL was released for the last week of April. Unfortunately, due to the second wave of the Corona epidemic in Nepal, a nationwide strike was declared. This was painful news. Thus, no interviews were conducted in April and May.

In the meantime, voices have been raised nationally and internationally for the rights of DV winners, and the US government and embassy have been pressured through various media and campaigns. Many lawsuits have been filed against the US government, although no final decision has been made until the date.

In Nepal, the embassy has again started inviting those who had previously canceled for interviews and some of the winners have already received visas. How many have been interviewed so far? How many got visas? How many are going to be interviewed in July and August? This article seeks to answer these questions.

Out of 3801 DV winners from Nepal, it can be estimated that the primary DV winners are around 2100 or 2200. Based on the updates so far, 63 primary cases have been processed, including 104 DV winners. Of these, 17 primary case interviews have been completed in the last week and 15 cases have already received visas and 2 visas have been rejected due to various reasons. A total of 16 people have received visas in 15 primary cases.

How many are going to be interviewed in July and August?

According to the update of the DV Lottery Chart, currently, 46 cases from Nepal are ready for the interview. Among them, 27 2NLs are for August. In this sense, 19 primary cases are ready for an interview for July.

And one of our regular viewer on the YouTube Channel- Gorkhey Analysis has notified us a remarkable point that the interview for those applicants, who have received the 2NL, is going to held on the 6th of July and 28th of July.

Out of 3801 DV 2021 winners from Nepal, only 16 have received visas so far, which means that only 0.42% of visas have been issued, which is disappointing. The highest number of cases ready to be interviewed is 377 and the lowest number is 3. However, most of the case numbers from Nepal are above 12,000.

Judge Mehta had ordered to reserve 9095 cases for the DV2020 winners, which is still pending and there is still confusion as to when the process will start. It is hoped that a similar relief order will be issued in respect of DV 2021. This is because of the fact that many people are less likely to be interviewed through the regular process, and the embassy has been making this clear through its Facebook chats. Now we have to wait till next month to know how many will get 2NL for September.

Millions of people from all over the world participate in the DV lottery program every year. But, out of those millions, only a few lucky ones get selected in the DV lottery program. Annually, 55,000 immigrants from eligible countries can enter the United States legally through the DV lottery. But unfortunately, many DV winners become disqualified for various reasons. Thus, we can say that being selected in the DV lottery program is not everything, but it is definitely the beginning of a beautiful opportunity to live an American life. As we have said before, being selected in the DV lottery is not everything. After being selected for the DV program, the DV winner has to proceed with the process very carefully in order to reach the interview to get the visa. The journey from the process of DS-260 to the acquisition of 2NL requires a long wait and patience. It may take at least 5 to 15 months for you to get to the interview once you are selected on DV. DV2021 Case Processing update of Nepal (Up to 5 September 2021)

The fiscal year of the DV 2021 visa issuance process is coming to an end on September 30. In this context, there are clear indications that not even 60% of the DV 2021 visas will be issued through the regular process, which is a matter of concern for the winners of DV 2021. As you may know, the US government court has not been able to give a promising verdict in favor of any of the DV 2021 lawsuit proceedings. In this sense, there is a question mark over the possibility of getting a visa for those who spend a lot of money to participate in the lawsuits. In the year 2021, 3801 Nepalis were selected for the DV lottery program, which is the second-highest number of DV winning country in Asia. According to the DV Lottery Charts' data published on 1st September, 31% of the winners have so far received visas, with 531 receiving visas and 522 being interviewed. The details are briefly presented in the table below. Total DV Winners   3801
